Maitri has an international volunteer program for students of all ages. Many of our volunteers come and assist in a specific aspect for one of our programmes. Volunteers mostly work with teaching English, life skills, and helping tutor school children from the slums.
Maitri greatly appreciates the efforts of its volunteers and the change they are making in the community. Volunteers symbolize the spirit of generosity and compassion, and are integrally woven into the fabric of everyday life at Maitri. Please contact Maitri if you are interested in volunteering.
Experiences from past voluneers
My volunteer time at Maitri has been a gift in my life. It has been the most humbling experience of my life. I thought when I joined Maitri, I was going to give the children joy and happiness by spending time with them. In truth, I got more than I can ever give. The innocent young children taught me unconditional giving and loving. It has been an incredible experience. -Simran
Being a volunteer at Maitri has to be experienced to understand the humility and compassion with which the communities of women and children are served by Maitri. Volunteering at Maitri is at once rewarding, enjoyable, fulfilling and, most of all, humbling. -Neeraj
To volunteer, means simply, to be motivated and give one’s time or energies to work towards a project or cause that you are interested in & my decision to volunteer at Maitri was a delight . Spending time with the children & helping them learn new things was challenging but fun .It has been a privilege to be part of this organization as a volunteer. -Nivedita Saxena
