Maitri is proud of its international internship program where students, generally in college, work full-time in the office for one semester (approx. 3 months). Interns perform a variety of writing and research-oriented projects in addition to having the opportunity to see and work directly with India’s most vulnerable populations. Interns in the past have worked with adolescent children in Shillong, destitute widows in Vrindavan, and slum populations in New Delhi. Visit the Maitri Intern’s Blog or the list below to read about their experiences first-hand.
Along with the experience of working with a non-governmental organization, Maitri’s interns also get to enjoy and experience the culture, cuisine, people and places of India
The University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute of Politics has instituted an India Internship program whereby each semester 2-3 students from Utah participate in an internship with Maitri in India.
All students interested in an internship opportunity may email volunteer@maitri.org.in with a page long write up answering the following questions:
1. Why would you like to intern at Maitri India?
2. Is there a specific Maitri Project that you would like to work with? Which one & why?
3. How do you see yourself contributing to Maitri India?
4. Please specify the duration for which you would like to intern with Maitri India.
